When is the Last Time You Had Your Brakes Inspected?

Are your brakes screeching and squealing? Is your car not stopping quite as quickly as it normally does? Are your tire treads wearing out very unevenly?

If the answer is yes to any or all of these questions, you are due for a brake inspection. Let's face it. Your brakes are one of your vehicle's most important components. Without good brakes, you won't have good control over your car and it can be extremely dangerous. You want to be able to come to a quick stop when the situation demands and you also just want to enjoy a smoother ride without herky jerky stops and starts.

If you live in the Colorado Springs area and think you might have brake issues, bring your vehicle into LightHouse Automotive for a proper brake inspection. Our team of ASE Certified auto repair technicians will inspect your brake system and make sure everything is working correctly. If not, we'll let you know exactly what is wrong, so you can replace parts or get repairs done as needed for your vehicle's overall performance and safety.

Here are some of the things we inspect with a standard LightHouse Automotive brake inspection:

Brake Pads - Most brake issues are caused by worn out brake pads, which are easily replaced and should be looked at with any maintenance service visit.

Brake Rotors - Though they typically last longer than the pads, brake rotors can also wear out with time and regular use. If so, they may need to be remachined (which we can do at the LightHouse Automotive shop) or replaced with new rotors if the damage is severe enough.

Brake Lines & Fluid - We want to make sure that the brake lines are supplying the proper amount of hydraulic pressure when you step on the brake pedal. The lines should be checked carefully for any fluid leaks and the fluid level needs to be at a certain level. A fluid quality test is also performed. If not, we can make repairs or do a full "bleed" of the brakes, which means draining and replacing the brake fluid inside the lines.

Emergency Brake Inspection - It's always a good idea to inspect your emergency brake system periodically so that it is working properly when you need it most.
